Ryan Edwards's Travels
Today we set off for Green Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef. I chose a glass bottomed boat in addition to the semi sub and Derek's option was to snorkel but in the end Derek decided not to in favour for a cup of tea! Despite the weather it was nice to see the fishes so close, especially since the Australian government has controversially granted mining rights near to the reef so we might not have this natural wonder for much longer. While I finished a nice meal with the other boys staying at Skinny Dips, the evening took an unexpected turn when discussion turned to what I thought was an innocent mosquito bite on my arm - the consensus was in fact a spider bite!! So off to the docs again for me tomorrow, to be on the safe side!

Roger Fab! So you went down twice? Once in the sub and another time in the glass-bottomed boat? Just googled Green Island, Great Barrier Reef, and it looks amazing, good choice!
ryanedwards Was good fun, not so sure about the unrelated spider bite though!
ryanedwards Check out my pics in the photo section for some of the semi sub!
Roger Blimey, it's quite big (ooh matron!). Love the photos of the fish. What was teh spider bite all about? You want to be careful in Australia, virtually every creepy crawly is venomous.
