Jeff and Dean have made me feel very welcome in their home, as has Kelvin, their cute ginger cat. Last night I met some of their friends as well as bumping into an guy from Tel Aviv who I had chatted to earlier on the ferry. Wellington has a charming small town feel to it, boardering on clicky so the locals tell me. We ended the evening by visiting a sauna that had been converted into a nightclub which was an unusual experience! In an example of the famous Kiwi friendliness, I chatted to a guy who was doing the 5 hour drive to Napier on Monday when I need to go, so that saves getting the bus. Beautiful day in Wellington today as I walked through the woods that were used to shoot some scenes in Lord of the Rings. While waiting for the bus to visit the Weta Cave for more LOTR's fun, I extolled some wisdom to a young lad who couldn't decide whether to join the New Zealand special forces or go to University, I told him 'go with your heart!' as I dashed for the bus. Am I becoming one of those guys that chats to strangers on park benches? Wait..... ;-).
Weta cave was fun if geeky, an interesting visit to the local musuem revealed some of the more recent history between the 'mother country' and New Zealand and I can now add my second cable car ride and visit to a botanical garden to the list of things I have done this trip. Frustratedly I feel like I am coming down with the flu so an early night for me - 9pm!

David Ryan have you seen your first Kiwi? I went to the Kiwi reserve in Wellington.
ryanedwards No. Not yet!
Roger You're going to have to post a photo of Kelvin. NZ sounds busy - or rather you sound busy in NZ! I hope you got some pics at Weta for my inner geek to see! And get some lemsip down you!
ryanedwards Wellington itself I wasn't too impressed with but I made the most of my day there. Pics of Kelvin and Weta uploaded. You should get a job there!
