As we stepped off the sleeper bus bleary eyed and dissorianted at 5am in the middle of nowhere, we had to bargain with a couple of distinctly dodgy looking men who just seemed to be hanging around at the side of the road. They were to give us a lift on the back of thier mopeds to the place where we were staying.
So we set off into the darkness not knowing which way we were heading or when we would get there. Through rain and wind we rode on some uneven and pot holed back roads clinging on on the back of the bikes and hoping they were going the right way.
As the sun rose over the mountains the morning light showed that the jungle was giving way to the beach in the distance and the initial fears began to receed. Windswept and sore bummed we arrived. Scariest journey ever but we lived to tell the tale!!
Jungle Beach was a recluseive almost deserted place, but for the other guests, and we stayed here for a couple of days with nothing to do but sunbathe swim in the sea and relax in our bamboo hut. It was nice but too many beasties for me - sand crabs, ants, some unkown winged creatures and the dogs all had fleas which were hard to avoid as the dogs and puppys acted as our guides and shaparones where ever we went.
Taxi back to town!!!!!
