This weekend have been a real royal weekend with a visit (only Rebecca) to the Palace of Holyrood Hous and finished today with a visit to the Castle of Edinburgh!
We got to the castle ca. 5 minutes before it opened to avoid the abnormally long queues to the ticket office, even though we had bought tickets in advance. Luckily for us you didn't even have to queue if you pre-purchased tickets, YAY! :D
The visit started with the free tour they arrange for the visitors and it was great! The guide was dedicated to what he did and he knew the history of both the castle and castle hill. After the tour we went on to see the scottish crown jewels that dates back to Mary Queen of Scots (16th Century) thereby making them the oldest crown jewels of the British Isles, impressive!
Then we tried our best to get around and see everything at the castle (it's a lot of stuff), but since the weather today was typically scottish with thick fog and cold winds, we kind of hurried around (at least outside) and finished our visit after ca. 2 hours.
But overall I really liked the castle and I think Rebecca did as well, even though it was her 2nd visit. But now we're relaxing at home - at least I am, Rebecca is a hero and studies!
Thanks for now,
Rikard
