Finally some working WiFi!
We're actually on our last day of our epic tour covering most parts if Scotland. We are at the moment staying in a small village called Glencoe were we stay at a small hostel in its outskirts.
But since we last updated you we were still on our second day and had just stopped in Inverness (I think). And since then we've had quite a few experiences on the Scottish roads.
First we went for a full day to the Orkney Islands and covered pretty much the whole main island. We saw a 5000 year old stoneage village, some standing stones from the same period. We also got to learn about the islands history from the last 100 years, including the WWI & II. It was the home of the whole British navy during the two wars, must a been quite the sight!!
After the Orkneys we took on the longest drive of our trip. From Thurso on the northeast side Isle of Skye on the opposite middle side. A spectacular drive and we covered almost all if the Highlands in that drive, IMPRESSIVE!!
Isle of Skye, were we stayed at Skyewalker hostel, was in my opinion the best stop on our trip. Just a beautiful place and really peaceful. The only problem; no signal what so ever..
After the Isle if Skye we drove a shorter bit and made a stop close to Fort William to se the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films.
Today we hiked for a few hours in the mountains near the hostel before we drove back to Fort William for some lunch and short sightseeing on the main road (more like the whole city).
I think we'll try and make a more thorough post tomorrow or during the weekend, when we're back home, but right now I'm almost falling asleep in the reception, were the only WiFi is...
But thanks for now, hej hå!
/Rikard
