Bit of a nothing day today. Inevitably I got Porter Family holiday weather - was bound to happen sometime or other. So, it's cold, it's raining enough to be annoying and it's windy. So, today I went to Cape Town Castle - I will now pause as all the Porter family either roll around on the floor laughing or roll their eyes in irony at me visiting a castle on my holidays - but I went. As I said yesterday, seriously, this is a fort not a castle, but it's a pretty cool fort and one of the oldest buildings left in Cape Town and probably South Africa. Okay, so it's been a couple of days - sorry!! Saturday was a stay in bed & take it easy day. Got absolutely no sleep on Friday night - too much sun & this sodding ear infection & I was ready to get back on the plane & jack it all in!! Thankfully, was feeling better by the end of the day & Mr P texted and so we had a chat and the propsect of lounging by his pool & doing nothing but the odd spot of babysitting or visiting the occasional vine...

So, first day sightseeing & pretty successful on the whole. Got a good nights sleep which was great and up for breakfast & then took the sightseeing bus up to Table Mountain. It's absolutely glorious up there, the views are stunning & I'm sure my fairly mediocre photography will not even remotely do it justice. What I didn't think was that it would be so windy - which of course it would be if you think about it. Fortunately, in additon to slapping on...

So Cape Town is definitely sunny, which is the good news. Flight not so great, which is the bad news. To be fair, the seat was great (lovely to have a flat bed) and the staff were lovely and the PJ's are wonderful, but the ear infection still playing up and there was just enough turbulence on a regular basis to make it incredibly hard for me to sleep, so was really ready to get off the plane by about 10 hours in!!!
