We arrived in Byron bay at 9pm at night and set up our tent in the dark before going for a wander round campsite to see what was around. We stayed at the arts factory which is a really big hostel and campsite with loads going on! It could be described as a bit of a hippy hangout but it was busy for this time of year and we met loads of other travellers. We had an early night in preparation for Ross' birthday when we had a lazy day at the beach and wandered round Byron bay for a bit before heading back to get ready for a night out! We had dinner and a few drinks at our campsite and got talking to a few other travellers who came along to a pub called cheeky monkeys for the celebrations. A good night was had by all although some remember more of it than others! It rained a bit on our last day in Byron but that didn't stop Ross heading out to enjoy his birthday present of a surfing lesson. Luckily the rain cleared up a bit and it was all worth it when he was surfing like a pro by the end of his lesson! Well... He could stand up anyway!
