No time to spare in this vast country and we where on our way to Adelaide for our eight day adventure to Urulu (Ayers Rock) and the Olgas. We met the most fantastic group of people from all over the world. Thanks to Mike and Amira , Phil and Sarah, Leta and Stephanie, Sayumi and Jeppe, Jason and especially Kevin our great guide. We slept under the stars in our swags (outdoor sleeping bags) every night amongst the spiders and snakes. We chased the sunrise and sunset for seven days so that we could get the best shots of Urulu…it is hard to describe how fantastic the rock is in real life and no photo can give it justice. We did loads of bushwalks in the area in at The Olgas and Kings Canyon…stunning views and the boys swam in a natural spring in the middle of the huge rock formations. F*#king freazzzzzing. We also visited the weird town of Coober Pedy where most of the people live underground, so we slept underground in an Opal Mine. One thing that reminds you of being in OZ, in the Outback are the amount of bloody flies…no matter what you do you just can’t escape the b*****s, they get in everywhere and it is really tricky to eat a sandwich without having some fly with it…yuck!! On the way back we stopped in Alice Springs for a couple of days. This is the town with the most murders in OZ and the place has an eerie feel about it. We saw the famous singing Dingo in a town near Alice. As soon as someone started playing the piano the dingo howled his lungs out. That was the end of our trip in the Outback, it was very sad to leave the group.
