We had to get back to the mainland and got suck in the buzzing town called Kota Bharu. The bank cancelled our cards for some silly reason and we had no money and the banks where only open for a couple of hours on the weekend…panic!! After sorting out our money issues we headed for central Malaysia. We traveled to the Taman Negara National Park which host’s the oldest rainforest in the world. The vegetation is amazing; the trees are as big as skyscrapers and the have the most interesting growing root foundations. We did a 4 hour jungle trek to the viewpoint overlooking the vast green flourishing rainforest. The mist over the trees make it really creepy and it seems like you can actually see the trees breathing…all this fresh air can only be good for you. The highlight of the trip was climbing the 1.2 kilometer long canopy built 50 meters above ground in these huge ancient trees. I was terrified at first and Ross was ready for action. We where bouncing in the trees like a bunch of crazy baboons!
