Jaipur is a big shopping area but we did not do too much of that because we have no room in our luggage. Well, we have room but cannot add anymore weight. We did go to a market and I learned the Indians are very good sellers. They just don't give up! Most people would give up and they keep asking and asking. One guy even jumped on a motor bike and followed our car trying to sell us pictures! That is someone who tries really hard! We also rode elephants again but this time we weren't riding bareback we were riding inside of a box and I felt much ,much safer. I thought the elephants were really cool and interesting because they all had colorful chalk paintings on their face, it was really beautiful. Another really cool thing we did in Jaipur was get a henna. A henna is a special paint made from a plant that stains your skin into really pretty patterns. When Indian ladies get married they do special henna on their body. I got some henna and it was really pretty but sadly it only lasted for 2 weeks. PS. I saw water buffalo and a big herd of cows in the middle of the road, well actually I saw them everywhere but it was really interesting to see them all crowded on a little strip of grass in the middle of a bunch of traffic. PPS. There was a boy pooing on the side of the street and his Mom washed his butt with a bottle of water after and left his poo on the side of the street. This made me see that toilets are very important and just for lucky people. There are a lot of people not so lucky and they have to do what they have got to do no matter where.

Gran Gautney Hi Rosie, You bring up an important point....we don't always appreciate the simple conveniences like toilets and the prevention of disease that raw sewage and human waste (poop) could cause to the environment as well as us!! I hope that the elephants didn't mind being drawn on (like makeup or clown decoration) They are too beautiful and majestic to be belittled by something disrespectful to their stature! Love your blogs, please continue to educate me. I am not too old to learn! Love, Gran
Aunt DeeAnn Hi there V! Yikes -- you rode another elephant. You are one experienced elephant rider at this point! My sister actually went to an Indian wedding -- and one thing that she commented on was how beautiful the henna was on the bride -- and how good it smelled. Did your henna smell good? It sounds like you are enjoying India. I'm so glad you are having so much fun. We love you and miss you. XOXOXO Aunt DeeAnn

Paige Hi Rosie! So glad to hear that you enjoyed India. I saw the picture of your henna and it looked very beautiful. At least you had it for two weeks. You are very lucky you were able to ride on an elephant! I have always wanted to do this. I hope that the elephant does not mind carrying people on it's back. Seeing the little boy makes you appreciate something as simple as a toilet. We are very blessed in so many ways. I miss you xx
