Woke up to another beautiful North Carolina morning in Asheville. Starting a little slower today following all of yesterday's fun activities. Began the day with a delicious breakfast at Hillside House. Talked to some interesting people, and were given some advice about a nice hike. Hopefully we will be able to fit it in tomorrow morning. Began our last morning in New Bern before making the long journey to Asheville. As we were leaving the resort, noticed one of the New Bern bears. The bear is the symbol of New Bern. Apparently some of the first settlers saw a bear as their first wide life. Also New Bern is named after Bern, Switzerland, and bern is is the Swiss word for bear. Began our day separately this morning as Larry was off to play golf in the resort, while I did some exploring. Following breakfast set out on a walk through the complex. Fairfield Harbour is a large complex comprised of lovely individual private homes, as well as condos and town houses. Woke up this morning by the golf course as part of the Resort at Fairfield Harbour. Arrived last night a little late to explore. Seems like a cool place made up of permanent residents and guest which includes some lovely homes, as well as various types of condos and town houses.
