Started this VERY long travel day in Lyon driving from this region, through the Alps region. What fantastic scenery! From the mountains and rocky formations, to the little villages and farms in the valley, such beautiful sights ! Passed by Grenoble, site of the 1968 Winter Olympics.
Stopped for a lunch break in Sisteron , a town in Provence. Another charming place, with it lovely old town, and fantastic rock formation along the river, which we were fortunate enough to eat a delicious ( lamb stew and red wine ) lunch in its shadow.
Continued the long journey through Provence, making our way to the Côte d’Azur. Stopped at a perfumery to learn how these scents are made. After some shopping, continued to the hotel in Juan Les Pins .
Checked in with enough time to freshen up for a group dinner at the hotel. What a lovely time! Got to eat some great food, and mix with some new people.
Following dinner, walked a short time through the wonderful side street filled with shops, bars and restaurants to the water. Beautiful lights glitter the shore, and we paused to have a drink on the sandy beach.
No moving tomorrow ....yeah ! Off for a tour of Antibes and the Picasso museum, free time in the afternoon, and our tour to Monaco and Monte Carlo in the evening.
