Our next stop was a place called River Valley which was gorgeous. It was pretty much in the middle of a valley in the middle of nowhere but had amazing scenery and a huge river in the centre of it. The lodge was really cosy and had such a homey feel to it as well.. just what we all needed after our epic night before. There was something particulary interesting about the lodge, the sleeping area was a room called 'The spooning room' which was basically a bunk bed which had been stretched to fit 16 people on top and 16 people on bottom, we thought it was fantastic as we had already kind of named ourselves 'team spoon' after the amount of spooning we all did! We had arrived quite late so didn't get up to too much that evening, made a group dinner of lasagne, played a couple of games, realised Sting couldn't play the guitar and then snuggled up for a HUGE spoon. Had to get up early in the morning as I had booked for an 8am massage.. was so needed and awesome. It was in a room which was just floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the river and relaxing music and was just aaaah. After that, had yoga. Yep, I did yoga and it was actually quite fun, especially when you caught other people in the rooms eyes and had to stop yourself from laughing. After yoga, a few of us had booked the spa so we sat in a hot tub for a few hours just talking before pretty much passing out in the sauna. After a short & sweet trip it was time to bid fairwell to the Valley as we got back onto our lovely little bus...
Wowza, so our halloween night out turned out to be EPIC! Me and the girls had managed to blag a 6 bed dorm with a massive balcony so we decided to invite a few people to our room to pre drink before... A few people turned out to be pretty much the ENTIRE bus including a few more randoms we didn't know! 3 hours later after wine, boxes of vodka and the occasional cider we decided we were suitably prepared to venture down to the bar. So, me and the girls were dressed as 'mascarade ghosts', we had a few zombie all black players, A LOT of pirates and a few other zombie based things, and we just casually strolled into the bar! Had a great time, lots of jager bombs and did a bit of vodka apple bobbing! The night basically continued like this so I wont bore you with all the messy details! After we decided to leave the club in the morning though we ventured back to our room and had an after party finishing off all the drink we could.
Funnily enough the next morning wasn't fun. Well.. It wasn't until we got on the bus. First of all, Max was half an hour late to grab the bus so naturally while we were waiting, Stingray (who was still drunk- you'll be hearing a lot about her) decided to sit in the drivers seat- he was off trying to get Max on the bus.. She found his phone, rang his mum and left a voice mail of her singing 'I just called to say I love you' down the phone'. Finally we got Maxy boy on the bus and off we went, made a stop at a supermarket where we tried to find stuff to make fajitas for dinner that evening and Sting decided to shout jalepenos at the poor supermarket lady whilst wearing a red fireman hat and scared her half to death- think you had to be there. Anyway, she got bored when we were back on the bus so she decided to get up to the front of the bus and take control of the mic and I can't even explain how bloody funny she was- just talking complete nonsence but as the whole bus was still pissed as farts it was hilarious! Literally one of the funniest moments of the trip but if I told you what she said it would not seem funny in the slightest!
Eventually we arrived at River Valley and oh my gosh it was gorgeous- really wish I had taken more photos to do it justice but I epically failed on the photo front there! But basically we were in this lodge in the middle of nowhere- not a single shop, house or another hostel anywhere near us..just a beautiful lodge in the midde of this valley with a beautiful river- ah it felt like paradice! We got in and basically made dinner (Ally- my New York pal makes the BEST home made gucamole!) and then sat around unitl about 12 playing a few drinking games. But the fun didn't stop there.. This hostel was very unique when it came to the dorm rooms- 32 person bunk bed. Basically, imagine a normal bunk and stretch it to fit 16 on top and bottom- AWESOME! It was called the spooning room and as we had already given ourselves the nickname of 'Team Spoon' we were in heaven. Had a massive team spoon and life was great.
Next morning I had to be up by 8, but for the best reason you could ever want to wake up for.. Had a much needed 30min back massage followed by yoga (I'm rubbish!) and then me, Amy, Lauren, Kate, Ally and Stacy went for a hot tub session. The hot tub was outside and looked out onto the amazing sceanry! Then fell asleep in the sauna until lunch, had bangers and mash (of course I did!) and back to the bus.
