We were all epically depressed about leaving Queenstown and had a 10 hour drive to Kaikora to suffer. When we arrived we were so happy, Kaikora was really pretty even though there wasn't much going on there. We managed to blah ourselves a room to ourselves with a double bed which was custie and then the three of us (Stingray, Lauren & me) went for a wonder and came back to the room with a lovely fish and chips dinner. We then were really boring and stayed in bed reading all night until we had to get up the next morning.
Next day wad the trip to Wellington which wasn't too long so we were fairly happy, arrived and decided we all really needed Chinese food so went on a hunt for a Chinese place- found one and it was awesome. At this point I had been phone less for nearly a week(I left it in the hire car and been too hungover every day to go and collect it) so Stingray's friend Dee very kindly picked it up for me and was meeting us in Welly. So we found her and went for 1 drink. Well, me and Lauren did anyway. Stingray decided to stay for another one. By 1.30am Stingray came back and got changed to go back out again.
So our alarm goes off in the morning, look over and Stingray hasn't bloody been to bed yet.. Try to ring her and get no answer- we panic because we have a bus to get on in like 10 mins and can't get her so we come to a group decision to go because we literally had no spare days to wait around. 3 hours after leaving she rings us and tells us she pulled which is why she missed it and was now travelling a day behind us. Typical Stingray. We arrived in Taupo and the wear was lush, met some guys at the hostel and they took us down to the river where they had swings they jumped off into the river and we just sat around and watched enjoying the sunshine. Headed back to a $3 chillie con carne which was so nice and hit the sack- after my lovely friend Anthony made me a hot milk bless him! Next day was our final stretch up to Auckland and when we arrived we discovered some other guys who were on our bus before were in town so of course we met up with them and all went for a drink!
Today was Kate and Lauren's last night in New Zealand so we spent a nice day together- went to O'Hagans pub for lunch in the sun and saw a surprise wedding take place in the pub! That night ended up pretty messy- the girls had a flight they had to catch at 7am so they had to get on the bus at 4, they're conclusion was to just not go to sleep so shots happened and I left them getting on their bus smashed. This was the first point I was alone since getting on the bus!
Next day I sorted out pictures and then went and read my kindle in the hostel bar garden where I was greeted by Stingray, Dee and girl I hadn't met yet called Sarah. Had few drinks and that was it as I had Bay of Islands the next day.
