Need to backtrack a bit here, after the kiwi adventure ended we were back in Auckland.. Me, Anthony & Lauren. We had discovered that Graham & James (guys who were on the bus with us) were also arriving in Auckland that night so met up with them for a causal few drinks, ended up in the famous O'Hagans and said our goodbyes as they were off on they're seperate ways the following morning. Lauren & I were really excited as Kate was re-joining us.. she had left Queenstown a day earlier than us so had been parted for about 5 days! She met us in O'Hagans (of course) after me and Lauren had had some lunch there and witnessed a surprise wedding.. just causally sitting in the beer garden with bangers & mash in the middle of a wedding party.. awkward. The day didn't consist of much but it was Lauren & Kate's last day in the land of kiwi so of course we went out that night. They're flight was an early morning jobby which meant they had to get on the shuttle to the airport at about 4am.. decided the only sensible option was to stay up all night. Well, obviously that was never going to end well.. lots of sambuka shots, harrasing the bouncers, getting involved with a stag party which turned Lauren into a lapdancer and me taking off my bra, singing over the poor street singer while switching bars and me & Lauren convincing a bouncer we were twins.. It was 3am before we knew it and suddenly realised we had to get the girls back to the hostel, changed & on a shuttle in an hour, which sounds like loads of time but when your drunk and move at snails pace its not so good.. We also had the task of pulling Kate away from this guy she had her face stuck to which was done with a lot of effort. Finally, they got back, got their stuff and were at the stop in time for their shuttle as planned, I got a bit emotional saying our goodbyes and then headed on back to my lonely hostel room- first time I'd been alone since getting on the bus.
Not for long though, the next morning it was actually quite nice to be on my own. Got up at my own time and after a couple of hours of uploading photos I went and sat in the bar with a nice glass of wine in the sun and started reading my kindle while I waited for the epic wonderer to return- Sting. After an hour or so she met me in the bar with Dee & Sarah and we continued to have more glasses of wine, some food and very amusing conversations. Discovered that very conviniatly me and Srah were both hopping on the trip to Bay of Islands the next day so yay I had a friend. Had a very early start and quite a long drive but we arrived and it was gorgeous sunshine and the area, although really small was lovely. Me and Srah were pretty shattered and there wasn't much going on that afternoon so we popped on our bikinis, grabbed some cider and snacks and shotgunned the hot tub- which was so hot we had to just sit on the edge with our feet in. Slowly we were joined by others which concluded a really nice relaxing evening and then we were being made dinner by the hostel.. a nice old BBQ with steak and bangers- cannie complain. The bar had a compition going on, as all these kind of places do which we just sat around and watched while playing our own drinking games and I spotted a really hot Swedish guy, we ended up chatting to him and his pal and when the bar closed at 1am I was not amused.. seriously, 1am!? So I decided we had to go on a hunt to find more places and refused to believe everyone when they told me there was no where open. Basically we ended up on the beach for like an extra hour before being defeated and going to bed.
Next morning, again we were woken with amazing sunshine as we made our way to the harbour to catch our boat to go swimming with wild dolphins in the sea :) hopped on this boat where were given loads if information and then were set out to keep our eyes peeled for dolphins. When we spotted them, it still took the guides a while to work out whether it was ok to jump in and swim with them and while they did that the boat was still moving, the group took it in turns to hang off the end of the boats where the dolphins were swimming along with us.. was so amazing, they were playing with us and jumping around and when we got in the sea it was awesome, looked down and saw a dolphin right under me and when you looked up you could see them jumping over people right next to you.. unfortunatly I get a bit freaked out by being in the sea so couldn't handle it for too long but so glad I did go in even if it was a short amount of time because was such an awesome experience! After our epic dolphin adventures we got ourselves a massive ice cream and passed out in the sun. That night we went back to the bar for BBQ food (and got told off when we tried to steal an extra sausage) for a couple of drinks.. didn't want a big night because we had another early trip the next day! Of course that didn't happen, we took part in a quiz which we thought would be relatively tame but no, not with these kind of bars.. I ended being the volunteer for our group and had to run round grabbing a condom off someone to then put over a pint glass, get someones warm underwear, swap clothes with a guy and grab a shoe lace- random. Anyway, thanks to me we won and got ourselves a $50 bar tab which went all on jager bombs. Bumped into our Swedish pals again and this time when the bar closed at 1pm we had already got prepared with extra alchol and a big group of us wondered up the massive hill close by to the viewing point and carried on drinking there- was pretty awesome, the view was great, people were interesting- not all in a good way, and was a really good night. Waking up the next morning at 7am wasn't so fun, especially as we woke up 5 minutes before the bus for the trip left. We were wondering up to the highest tip of the Island as it was a really highly recommended day trip. Had lots of interesting stops along the way which included sand dunes where you have a go and sandboarding (and get a stupid amount of sand in your face from the wind when on top of the dune whiich took you a million years to climb up) a couple of beaches before hitting our destination. The very tip of New Zealand is a really spirtual place as the Maori people believe this is where spirits come when we die. There was a long path which winded around a cliff and at the end was a lighthouse- to guide the spirts. It was also the point where 2 oceans met and you could really see the difference- the colour of them. Was really wierd, one was a lot lighter and the other a lot darker and where they met it made a massive whirlpool kind of effect. Did lots of snaps, argued over a Jamie T song and then back on board.. only had 2 more stops on the way back which included a trip to a massive tree- at this point I was exceptionally hyper so when everyone was just looking at it I told them to stop being boring and give it a hug and started hugging this massive tree in front of about 20 people I'd never met.. they laughed and copied me though for some reason! Final stop was at a famous fish & chippery which was really really tasty and just what we needed. Of course that night ended up messy again and I had to be put to bed by midnight which was great for feeling fresh in the morning..not.
Arrived back in Auckland and I wasn't allowed a night off because now it was Stingray's last kiwi night so of course we had to go out, somehow managed to bump into Dave who we had been with in Queenstown and all went to O'Hagans for the night after pre drinking in the hot tub on the roof of the hostel.. Dee got very drunk and did a massive leap on Dave which was very amusing before we all ended up in maccas. Sting got to the airport about 40 mins before her flight departed to Aus...risky risky business. Anyway, the next morning me and Sarah made a little deal with each other that we wouldn't drink, eat out or smoke for that entire day. However there was nothing to do so we did go to the bar to sit in the sun but got cokes.. but then we got hungry so ordered food- we were in O'Hagans again and the food was just too good to resisit. Then went back to the bar next to the hostel to meet Dee and straight away she was on white wine.. f*** it we will have one. Dave also met us, he was meeting the Welsh boys and then driving to BOI with them, the Welsh informed us that Char & Rohanna were arriving in Auckland that day so I grabbed Char's number and invited her to the abr to meet us. She arrived and we somehow got more food- cheap pizza though common! Then Char convinced us to get drinking so that went out the window and by 8pm we were on the vodkas, having very inappropriate conversations and taking pictures pulling very unattractive faces. Then the idea to go out came along so off we went, saw cardboard boxes and a tuk tuk dude and ended up getting a lift on the tuk tuk with cardboard boxes all over us.. carried on playing stupid games in the pub then decided it was time to go to base bar where it was cheap. To sum up.. Sarah decided to get involved with their compitition and lay on the bar topless while a guy did tequila body shots off her- so so so amusing.. me and charlotte were pissing ourselves! Ended the night in maccas with 2 meals just for me.. oooh yeah.
Now it was Dee's last night which once again ended messy, no real tales to tell from the night except it took me & Sarah forever to get Charlotte to leave at the end of night and had to trick her with cigerettes and food. And before I knew it I was celebrating my last night in kiwi with the girls in our favourite bar with a lovely steak and glass of wine before getting a couple hours kip and jetting off to AUSTRALIAAAAA...
I had excellent timing for booking my trip up to Bay, Sarah who I met the day before was going for the same days as me along with anthoer couple of guys we knew from previous bus. We arrived and me and Sarah decided we may as well go in the same room so we got our room sorted and then went and sat in the hostels hot tub which was in a nice little outside area. Managed to stay there for a fair few hours and got to the bar in time for a BBQ result. Ended up having lot of drinks and the bar closed at 1 so went looking for more places- there were nada!
Next day was awesome, it was gorgeous bright sunshine and me and Sarah had booked to do wild dolphin swimming. Got on our boat and we had to look out and see if we could spot dolphins, took about half hour and then we found loads! Was awesome, the instructors have to have 10 mins or so to see if their are baby dolphins and what mood their in to see if it's safe to swim so while they did that we were able to hang over the side of the boat while the dolphins swam under us and swam along with the boat! Then turned out we could go in so got in our snorkels and such and jumped in the sea. Ahh it was amazing, looked down and there were just dolphins swimming about. Very sereal. After the swim we had another boat ride back were a few of us just layed on the front of the boat soaking up the sun and once we arrived back we decided to get an ice cream and chill out on the beach. After falling asleep in the sun and turning and interesting shade of red we went back and hit the bar for a couple of drinks, we were doing a quiz so no way it could develop into a big night right!? Well.. Half way through the quiz they needed 1 person per team to get bonus points for their team. Ended up being me for the team and had to do loads of little tasks to gain extra points- I did fairly well and we were confident so far with our answers for the quiz so we were feeling confident. Ended up winning oooyeah and got ourselves a $50 bar tab so we bought lots of jäger bombs and ended up staying up until 3am because after the bar closed we went up to the view point on the hill and carried in drinking.
Wasn't the best idea as the next day me and Sarah had to be up by 7 to get on a bus day tour to Cape Reiga which is the most Northern point if NZ. We woke up 5 mins before the bus left, panic to get sorted and managed to make it! Day included us going sand boarding down massive sand dunes, seeing a forest which is like royal or something with a huge tree and going to the lighthouse on the tip of NZ which is a holy place as the Maori believe it's where your spirits go when you die so you can't eat, drink or smoke near it incase it distract the spirits and they go to the wrong after life. Great day finished off wi fish and chips and of course more drinking at the bar.
We had loads of time to kill the next day before the bus so we literally just slept in the sofa area and went in the internet until our bus came. We got back to Auckland and it was Stingray's last night in NZ so again we were forced to go out.. Sitting in a bar having dinner we found Dave just walking past so he joined us and we then ended up pre drinking in a hot tub before heading out.
It was now Friday and we were Stingray down (she got to the airport 20mins before he plane arrived, no idea how she made it!) and we decided we would not drink or eat out all day. We went to the bar at 2 because it was a sunny day and in Auckland a bar is the best place to be but we stuck to our plan and just had a coke. Then bloody Charlotte and Rohanna showed up- girls who were on our bus at the beginning. And it all went wrong. Basically it panned out as us having a few ciders then getting pizza then moving onto vodka then doing sambuka then getting a tuk tuk to the bar where we did more shots then another tuk tuk to base bar where Sarah ended up doing naked body shots on the bar and finished the night by getting a massive maccy ds. We failed.
Now it was Dees last night and we basically ended up drinking again in a big mess. But the next day was my last day in NZ (sob) but as the sensible one :/ I decided not to get on my plane completely hammered so we went for a lovely meal where I had an amazing steak and went to bed so I managed to get up bright and early for my bus to the airport and I caught my plane happy as larry...
