Wooooo I arrived in Sydney at 10am Aussie time in the 5th December. Unfortunately not with the weather I had imagined it to have but never mind. Got to my hostel by the train after getting off at the wrong stop and getting another train and found Max waiting outside for me! Managed to get in the same dorm as him and he then took me to see the opera house ect but I was so sleepy I didn't really take interest. Went back to the room and pretty much just slept for the rest of the evening and through until morning. Next few days nothing majorly interesting happened, made friends with guys in our room, 3 Irish guys, a Swedish guy (who taught me to swear in Swedish yay!) and that was kind of it. Guy called Dan was the main drama, he was a fat guy in our room who never left apart from to go to the kebab shop and while he off on his kebab trip a lady from reception came in and took all his stuff including passport and laptop because he hadn't paid for his last week of staying there. When he got back we told him what happened and he convinced us it was a major mistake and went to 'sort it out' and we heard nothing from him since. Also found out he has never gone to pick up his stuff from reception.. Strangeeee. Anyway Friday came about and Rosie, Max and myself decided to go the free city walk that the hostel put on which turned out to be s really good day. The sun was shining and we got taken to Darling Harbour which has now become one of my favourite spots in Sydeny- really pretty with lots of nice bars ect around, cool little grass area and the Chinese gardens which are really pretty and secluded. Then walked down the main street in Sydeny, past Westfields shopping centre until we hit Circular Quay where we got lunch and followed our guide to a nice spot to eat which had a great view of the opera house and bridge. After lunch we went through the Botanical gardens which are stunning and saw my first Aussie spider..yuk. Also got to see loads of massive fruit bats hanging asleep in a tree as well as finding a tree with millions of parrots in- I loved it! That night we got on the goon (cheap wine which is the only affordable alcohol in Sydney!) and decided to start celebrating my 21st bday weekend! Ended up just getting smashed in the room and just about made it down to the side bar. Next day was the Saturday and Sarah got to Sydeny yay! So she came and met us and went for a wonder, got ice cream in darling harbour then went for dinner in the hostel bar where it was nice and cheap before I got myself glammed up for my bday night. Was really cute- Max and Rosie decorated my bed with balloons and banners :) we started playing drinking games and I of course got picked on and ended up going out wearing a pair of boxers, 21 written on my head with a balloon round my neck and a devils fork in my hand. You would of thought at this point I would know the night would go wrong but no no. Got to Kings Cross and into the bar where I had to do 21 shots and Sarah succeeded in getting me loads of free drinks, had pictures in a photo booth and danced like their was no tomorrow. Then we decided to leave to go somewhere else. I decided to have a piggy back off Warren who is one of the guys in my room. He decided to fall. I then smashed my face on the concrete ground and managed to break my front 3 teeth. I was freaking out for about an hour and Sarah and Warren calmed me down and took me home- not the most successful bday in the world. Next day I woke up in extreme pain.. On my bday. Grrrreat. I couldn't get my teeth fixed until Monday so in my head the only conclusion was to stay drunk so I forgot the state of my face. So up I got, had my first glass of goon of the day and we all headed to Coogee beach as the sun was out. Typically, soon as we got to Coogee it started pissing down so we went and got food and me and Warren were pissed out of our faces playing drinking games in the cafe. When it stopped raining we went to the beach and carried on drinking and the day just consisted of goon, drunk Aussie girls, surfing the tide and eating macdonalds. We went back to the hostel in the evening and I decided I wanted to go out so we went and met the Welsh guys and went for some more drinks.
Monday I got and got my teeth fixed yay!!!! Cost me and arm and a leg but at least they were fixed! We went to go to celebrate but everyone crashed so ended up as movie night watching a film off Lucas' laptop. Next few days were pretty casual- one night Sarah stayed and threw up everywhere from drink and Lucas' last night was pretty epic.. Few drinks turned into half of the gang passing out; one so bad we threw a backpack at him and he didn't notice. And others getting kicked out of the bar. A few of us got in about 2 and decided to carry on drinking so kept going on the goon until 6.30 in the morning. Needless to say the next day nothing happened. I got out of bed at 4.30pm to go to the toilet and brush my teeth and then went back to bed until 6. I'm living with crazy people who decided to go out but me Lucas and Rosie decided movie night was a much better idea so we watched limitless, Paul and then me and Lucas watched how to train your dragon which is possibly the best film ever and made me really want a dragon. Now I'm at Sarah's friends parents house which is were she is staying and they gone away for a few days and it's been awesome. A sofa and TV is amazing! Sarah made me my favourite home made bangers and mash with gravy and we got diorites and salsa watching films all night. Made me really feel like I was in Aus- sitting in the garden and saw a wild cockatoo just sitting on the fence and parrots just flying around everywhere!
