After 5 really good (if a little rainy) days in Melbourne, we hit the Hume Freeway and managed to cover 650kms in a day and spent the weekend in Canberra. Got some decent sunshine for the first time in a few days and Canberra seemed nice. Lovely lake, nice walks, few nice restaurants... much better than we'd expected, i think, as everyone says it's awful! Plus, we strategically timed it to be there on Election Day! Heading back towards Sydney Monday for 2 great ...

Just wanted to get the map up to date with our current location! Will let you know what we've been up to this week in the next few days and load up some more photos! 2 more days in Melbuorne before the 1000km drive back to Sydney begins!

Made it to the 12 Apostles on Monday the 19th... some amazing scenery and fab photos to share in the next few days. After the brush with spidery-death the night before, (a touch melodramatic!) we headed straight to Melbourne!!!

After a smashing evening catching up with Drum, Doll and family in Mentone, we set off early for the Great Ocean Road... Ok, so not that early given we were hung over from the bottle of Bundaberg Rum which the 4 of us consumed, post the all-day drinking bbq, but pretty early nonetheless!!! We took the scenic route along the Mornington Peninsula to Sorrento where we caught the ferry across the bay. Saved us a few miles round the bay and the city, as well as plonk...

So we're almost at Melbourne, but the offer of a bed for the night, a bbq and all the Bundaberg Rum we could drink proved too much for us, and we headed for Drum and Doll's place in Mentone today en route to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road! I was going to update the blog with individual entries for all the places we'd been in our travels in the camper van, but the line from Sydney to Wilson's Prom pretty much covers it, and we can pretty much cover everything...
