So we're almost at Melbourne, but the offer of a bed for the night, a bbq and all the Bundaberg Rum we could drink proved too much for us, and we headed for Drum and Doll's place in Mentone today en route to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road!

I was going to update the blog with individual entries for all the places we'd been in our travels in the camper van, but the line from Sydney to Wilson's Prom pretty much covers it, and we can pretty much cover everything off in one big blog anyway!

The week's been just brilliant... from the moment we picked up our Jackie Chan themed camper van in Sydney to the moment we avoided our first kangeroo on the road to Wilson's Prom last thursday night, we've seen some beautiful places, some beautiful sunsets and some breathtaking sights and beaches. We'll lump all the photos together and they'll all look the same and won't really show you how awesome these places can be, but believe me when i tell you how gorgeous and fabulous these places are. If we thought Jarvis Bay and Aslings Beach in Eden were amazing, then Wilson's Prom and Squeaky Beach just took things to a whole new level! I just hope the photos give you half a sense of what it's like. Simply stunning... and i'm running out of superlatives!

The camper has been cool. We managed 5 nights in it, before taking the easy option tonight and crashing at Drum's. By skillful and sparing use of the lights, we've kept mosquito and bug intrusion to a minimum (so far!) and the only low point was the freezing cold overnight temps in Wilson's Prom when Rach was actually in tears because of the cold! Other than that, it's been fine!

The funniest part of our "roadtrip" was part way through Day 2 when Rach suggested we play some games to kill time during the journey... we got to Fruit & Veg... from A to Z... i said "Apple"... Rach said "Carrot"... the game ended there! Nuff said...

We head off early tomorrow from Mentone, down the coast to Sorrento, to catch the ferry, then we pick up the Great Ocean Road west for a couple of days, before heading back towards Melbourne.

We will be back in Sydney for the 27th... Tom has scored us free tickets to see the LA Galaxy play Sydney FC... apparently you get your money back if Becks doesn't play.. not sure how it works if your tickets are free! Still, i get to wear my Galaxy shirt for a couple of hours at least! (P.S. my Ronundo shirt was a big hit with the gang in Noosa and Brisbane, Al!)

Anyway, that's enough from me... it's late! Rach plans on updating on the ins and outs of East Coast travels, but she's asleep right now and shut-eye far outranks tales of Old Tom the Killer Whale, i'm afraid!

Fingers crossed for Israel v Russia later today, then England v Croatia on Wednesday!!!
