We are now in the final stages of the Chinese Extravaganza, and the weather has finally improved which is a relief to be honest.
Iwas verging on SAD syndrome from all the dark dismal rainy days - we are now in Xiamen which is a little Island on the coast north of hong kong, and its lovely.
We are still getting the stares/giggles/pointing/photo taking and although I understand it and can tolerate it I can safely say I have had enough and cant wait to get to Hong Kong where I have no doubt everyone is a bit more us to having western people around. Its just so odd that I have been refraining from blowing my nose (as people find it offensive if you do it in public) and today a man grobbed the biggest greenie spit over the side of the harbour about 5ft away from me...this spitting thing has become quit the norm...so how I can expect people to understand I might find all the attention a bit off I really dont know!
The food has definately been the best bit of china and I think we have been cautiously adventurous...ie we have eaten in places with the locals but havent yet ventured into the chickens feet/beatles on sticks, KFC was a welcome relief on occasion!
Signing off not now not long till Thailand!!!
