Rohin goes around the world
So will I ever actually get to Hawaii???
Im at the Vancouver airport waiting for my flight for the second day in a row. yesterday I showed up only to find out they had changed me to the flight the day before without telling me. Hmmmm thanks guys. So I was put on standby for a flight leaving in 5 hours. So after 5 hours in the buisness lounge drinking free alchole (something im good at) I rock down to find out the flight is delayed by 2 hours because of a technical fault. I asked if they had a seat for me and was told I was onboard. Great, Hawaii hear I come. So after a few more free drinks, finally they call up the flight and I walk on down to get told that they got a new plane and it has 3 less seats, so Im not on. DOH. Free night in a hotel, free food and back again today. Guess what, the flight is delayed today as well. But this time ive got a seat and im in Business class. yeah Hawaii here I come.
So here I am in the busisness loung having more free drinks and generally wasting time before I finally get on my way to Hawaii. Well I hope so anyway.
The last few days in Vancouver have been a bit of fun. I got out for some good rides with one of them over 5 hours with 3 major hill climbs. Quite nice but a big on the cold side.
Tom and I visited a backpacker style pub called the Cambi where we met a heap of people. One of the guys we met was a programming director at EA games (worlds larges games maker). Turns out the worlds biggest EA games office was right here in Vancouver. He offerd to take us on a tour of the place, so that just what we did.
The building has some 1700 staff and they had just completed the 3/4 size soccer pitch, beach volleyball court and basketball court. It was a modern building with lots of great chill out spaces for staff. But who needs to leave their desk. We walked through the testing room where there were about 600 staff avidly playing games. What a job but we were assure you get over it.
We had a bit of play on the not yet released NBA basketball game for the not yet released XBOX 360 console. Ill just say it now, brilliant!!!
So for my last night (turned out to be second last night) we went back to the Cambie for a few more drinks. Didnt really have a big one but a good way to say bye to my new friends.
apart from that. Just get me to Hawaii!!!!!
