Tuesday 19th October

We got picked up by a shuttle bus at 7.50am so it was another early start. The shuttle took us to Abel point Marina which is where lots of the boat tours start. The boat trip was fantastic it took us to a look out point where you had a great view over whitehaven beach. To get to the look out we disembarked our boat into small power boats which brought us to the shore. We had a short but eventful bush walk up to the look out, I say eventful because we were swarmed and I mean swarmed by the most horrid flies. They were particularly attracted to me and Avril as we presume they liked the colour purple. However we ended up looking like we were nutters running and waving our arms trying to squat the little buggars. Thankfully once we got back to the power boats there were only a few.

We then headed to Whitehaven beach where the boat stopped and we swam to the shore where we spent over an hour on the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous...clear blue waters, white sand and sun. This was definately a highlight of the trip. Once back on board we had a lovely buffet style lunch and headed to a small bay where you could jump off the boat and dive or snorkel. The lads paid to dive which they absolutely loved, it took a while to get used to the breathing/ pressure etc but they really enjoyed it. Whilst they were diving me and Avril snorkelled in the coral reef which was just great...loads of fish, quite calm water, all very clourful.

The whole day was great and to finish it off we went for a meal at a nearby mexican restaurant! x

Wednesday 20th October

We got the ferry over to Daydream island. By the name we were expecting a beautiful tropical paradise...however in reality it was nice but not quite what we expected. We spent several hours on the island but the weather was not great so we managed to spend a bit of time on the beach and chill by the pool, and the lads played mini golf and giant chess!lol. The resort did have a lagoon where you could view sharks, sting rays, fish etc which was really nice.

In the evening we had a night in and cooked a meal which was very nice!
