Last stop in Argentina - Puerto Iguazu!
Hung around for 5 nights here, mainly just relaxing seeing some stuff and saving a few pennies before we hit RIO! First of all, yeah, we got to talk about the falls, which are just rediculously cool, with simply how much water descends over the top of the falls. The day we went was ok for weather, and although this made the pics a little less decent, it doesn´t take anything away from the experience, as you still get loads of mist coming up from the crashing waterfalls, and you can still see them all. Most people wear those bin liner things to keep dry in some of the places, but unless you go and stand in a certain place (does a make a great photo), then you dont really need on. We spent around 5 hours at the falls, as you can walk to the principal fall, and then you can take a series of walkways to see many others (theres like 275 in totla or something)! A great day out, as you get to see one the worlds best waterfalls - shall be weird seeing Angel Falls after this, as both are totally opposite styles of falls.
Another day in Iquazu, we walked to see the three frontiers which are other side of town. Here you can stand in Argentina, and see Brazila nd Paraguay, all seperated naturally by the Rio Parana and the Iguazu rivers. Though its not the best view in the world its nevertheless a cool thing to do as you gte to stand in one country and look out on to two of its neighbours.
While we were in Iguazu, we also took a short bus ride to the Guiraoga juts outside of town, which is an animal sanctuary in the jungle, where they have monkeys and eagles and other birds and mammals, which they care for and if possible, release back into the wild. Was quite a cool place to take a walk round, as it is set in dense jungle, and their birs of prey are really cool too.
Aside from this, we spent a fair amount of time simply relaxing and enjoying (still) not having to do anything *coughs, work*! Iguazu is a good palce to chill out, drink a beer, buy some cheap crap, and do some tours.
For now though, its onto to Rio de janeiro in Brasil which is gunna be sweet (hopefully), though the 23hour & 35 minute bus journey first is a bit bush, but a must i suppose! Ciao for now!!
