Hiya We have arrived in Port Douglas and have booked onto our great barrier reef trip. We started off at 8am and headed to the boat for a briefing on safety etc. We headed off and all was well, we arrived at our 1st snorkelling place and got into the sea. We had a yummy snorkel and saw the coral and loadsa fish, someone in the group saw a shark!! We then headed off to the 2nd place, turtle bay. Once in the water it was clear that the water was getting choppier, I felt sea sick in the water and had to get back on the boat. From here the story aint pretty. I spent the next 6 hours throwing up, rocking, and crying. It was categorically the worst day of the trip so far. Its such a shame cos we had a fortune to go with this company that allows is to snorkel in 3 places. Poor Rob learnt quickly about the 'in sickness and in health' vow as he spent the day consolling me and missed out on the last snorkell. All in all the day was a disaster and I wont be going on any more boat trips. You live and learn, I'm glad I did the 1st snorkell cos now I can say I snorkeled within the Barrier Reef, we hired a digitial camera and took some of our own shots, see pictures on the site. We got on dry land at about 5pm and it was the greatest feeling ever!! We are flying to Alice Springs soon so will keep you posted. Love from Shelley and Rob xxxxxxxxxxx
