Drove the scenic Indian Ocean drive from Perth to Kalbarri. Parts were beautiful with ocean views other parts felt like we were in no mans land. Arrived to 38 degrees and a beautiful sea side apartment (Kalbarri seafront villas). Explored a little grabbed some dinner and groceries and chilled. Next morning brought us out to the National Park bright and early, much to Lucas chagrin. Caught the sunrise as we drove to the z-loop trail and then on to Nature's window. Amazing view of cliffs and river below although much of river was dried up. 2 short hikes to get to both locations and although everyone tells you how stunning it is- nobody mentions the flies!! OMG!
We were done by 8am and already it was nearly 30 degrees! Returned to room for a quick brekkie then checked out the Coastal cliffs- Natural bridge, Island Rock and Blue hole beach.
Animals sited- 6(live) Roos, 1 emu and a bunch of cockatoos
