I need to do some celebratory wishes at this point, June Fabb - Happy Birthday on 2nd June (a big one, but I won't tell you all which one!), 4th June, Happy Anniversary to my brother Paul and Sister-in-law Mandy (31 years), and also to our special friends Flea and Bert.Mandy (Sister-in-law) has a special birthday on 9th June, it is also Kim (Rob's brother-in-law's) birthday.11th June is my brother Paul's birthday.I hope I haven't missed anyone, but we would like to let you all know we are thinking of you. Sunday 1st JuneOnwards towards Hervey Bay, it is still raining and several sections of the road were flooded. On the way here we stopped at the Bundaberg Rum distillery and went on the tour.It is very interesting how much rum they produce.I offered to continue the drive so the boys could taste. They do a ready to drink mix with ginger beer, this was quite nice but I think the general consensus was it didn't match the Caribbean varieties. This is the first time I have ever known that Rob didn't buy a bottle!!He did of course purchase a customary T-Shirt!We have been told the weather may start to break tomorrow - fingers crossed as we have a couple of tours we need to do from here.Monday 2nd started off dull but brightened up as the day progressed. We became avid weather news watchers as we decided on our next moves! All the forecasts indicated that the bad spell was due to break so we threw caution to the wind and booked a day trip over to Fraser Island for the next day.We had taken a long walk to the jetty to see what the fishing was doing, after speaking to several locals we had a fast trek back to get the gear and see if Rich and Sue wanted to come too.As we were a fair way from home Rob suggested catching a taxi back, not because we weren't able to walk the distance but because he was in a hurry to get his tackle out!!!I made him walk! The boys fished all afternoon, Rich caught a shovel nosed ray, Rob caught several bream, as we didn't have any measures (and taking undersize fish around here can impose huge fines) and no-one was sure if they were big enough they all got thrown back in - hence no fish for tea. They let me loose with a rod that had 6 fly hooks on to catch the bait fish, I had great fun reeling in all the little herring, I think Rob got a bit fed up with me swinging the rod at him to take off the fish (I wasn't going to touch them!).We saw a brilliant sunset from the jetty but it was then time to run before the mozzies got me!
