Two things to do today - visit the Tour de Eiffel and the Arc De Triomphe - not that we planned either. But in the way we had a ride in carousel - very quaint though Bruce and I chose rocking horses instead of the poled horses. Quite Mary Poppins of us.
The lines at the tower were quite small so we decided to climb it rather than come back - we walked to the second stage ( all 670 steps) and then took the lift to the top level. Celebrated with champagne - French of course.
We wandered through the Christmas markets near the tower after that.
In the afternoon we walked to the Arc De Triomphe, which we also climbed (another 284 steps).
An impressive view - the City of Lights was living up to its name.
A lovely meal at an out of the way restaurant on our way home finished off the day. The escargot was a first and we all had one.
