Wednesday 6 September 2006 - Auckland City Hit Queen Street for some essential shopping! (Coats)....still cold! Needing a haircut for our big night out, someone had the bright idea to go to the trainee hairdressers for a cheap one! What a disaster!! Yes, it was 5 quid but seeing as all 3 of us had to go back and finish the haircut ourselves not exactly value for money! Good job we didn't go for the free haircuts! Our big night in Auckland starting next door at the Globe Bar..... looking for another bar we asked the taxi driver to take us somewhere good, he took us to a gay bar - 'Family'. Good atmosphere and by befriending the host drag queen even got ourselves some free shots, calling us his little Yorkshire Puddings. Shots were a bad thing because we were soon up on stage (being introduced to the bar as 4 virgin lesbians) singing our hearts out to Britney's 'I Love Rock & Roll'. Slightly concerning when some woman was videoing the performance on her mobile phone! Left shortly after that - back to the Globe Bar to finish the night. Thursday 7 September 2006 - Auckland Harbour Made our way down to Auckland Harbour to the famous Minus 5C bar. The Ice Vodka Bar where everything is made of ice... sculptures, bar, seats even the glasses....the only thing that didnt freeze was the vodka! Lucky! Kitted out in eskimo coats and gloves you are only allowed to spend 25 minutes in there....which was long enough it's freezing!! Road trip to Raglan....
