A short bus journey from KL on a luxury bus - a bit like business class on a plane but without the peronal tv's - and we get to Melaka at around 12ish. We splashed out (£10 a night) on a hotel here as we know this'll be the last time for quite a while that we can afford a private room for ourselves. Our hostel in KL is called Pujangga Homestay and is a very welcome upgrade from the shack we stayed in at Taman Negara! With Wi-Fi and a movie lounge we felt spoilt! Once again on our day of arrival, we just manage to venture outside and have a short walk around, find some food, watch a film (!) then off to bed! Arriving in Cameron Highlands in the afternoon of the 11th Sept we step off the coach and an instantly appreciate the drop in temperature! It's only a few degrees but it feels so much cooler! So we had a couple of days free in Bangkok where we said our fond farewell's to some of our group and enjoyed the capital for the last time. This included going to the seedy Patpong district, where they try and con you into paying hundreds of Baht for their "Ping-Pong" shows. But we still had two good nights in a row.
