Day 1 - I set up from Arusha and picked up Alision a girl from Northern Ireland, Kevin and ChongKi from Hong Kong. I went with SOK a company I would definatley recomend and the one that all of my volunteers goes with to do Kili or safari. I paid $900 for the trip going up the Machame route and it was well worth it.
We got to the park gate at around 12:30 ish and after 1 and a half hours registering and getting organised we set off up the mountain.
The first day was releatively easy and we walked for around 4 - 5 hours going through rain forest which was nice and cool. For the first day I just had on tshirts and shorts as I was getting to hot wearing trousers and a coat. The first day was quite muddy so it was good to have on my hiking boots so that my trainners did not get muddy. When we got to the first camp we caught our first climpse of Kili in the distance. All of our tents were already set up by the porters and we tucked into some well deserved dinner on the first night. The food through out the trip was excellent and we always had enough of it for example for breakfast we would get toast, eggs and sausages.
The first nights sleep was not very cold and I slept in my boxers in my sleeping bag.
Day 2 - I woke up to a misty morning and after a nice breakfast we headed out at around 8am for Shira Camp. The day cleared up as we went along and we started to walk through the clouds as we went along where we got our first up close view of Kili. It was a very hot day and I ended up getting burnt by the sun. When we got to the campsite it was
