I flew into the Gonkar airport from Shanghai and did not have to show my Tibetan visa to anyone which was weird. We were told that you had to buy a visa before you could enter Tibet but this was not really a problem, I had meet some travellers who did not even have a visa. I had to go as part of a tour group, but the group consited of just me so I was picked up by a lady and her driver and taken to my hotel, and thats the last I saw of her, so much for the tour ...

Whislt working in Shanghai I took some holiday time and went to Xian to see the Terractor Warriors. I landed in at the Xian airport and meet some english lads who I went to a backpackers with. Xian itself is not that intersting and is extrmeley polluted, it is hard to see down the street when you step out of the backpackers.
