Hola. After taking the most amazing bus you will ever go on from Santiago, we crossed the border into Argentina aka... steak country and headed for Mendoza which is the main wine region in Argentina.
The drive was beautiful, driving through the Andes up the most winding road you could imagine! The views were amazing and the on the bus there was a guy who came round with a goodie bag with a drink, cookies and crisps in it!
We arrived at the bus station at 8pm and we thought it was a pretty big station but we have been told the one in Beunos Aires is way bigger! After we had changed some money we booked our bus to Buenos Aires...apparently the buses in Argentina are better than the Chiliean buses which is almost hard to believe!! Then we headed for the hostel. We checked in and stuff and then decided to go for a walk around. We are staying in the area with all the cool bars and restaurants so we went for a meal. It was so so cheap and really nice. It was so laid back we didnt even eat until 10:45pm which was really nice just watching the world go by.
The next day we headed for the Parque General San Martin and just walked around for hours, the park was really nice and it was such a hot day. We walked around the lake and the fields there were so many people running or cycling around the place. THAT NIGHT WE went out with 2 guys from our room for an Argentinian steak (at 12.30am!!!) the steaks they brought out were not only very cheap (9pound with a huge bottle of beer) but were the thickest, biggest, juciest steak you will ever see. They were truely amazing! Again we just sat around talking and watching the world go by. We reckon no one has jobs or anything because they all dont come out for dinner until way after 1am!
Our final day before we catch the night bus to Buenos Aires we walked into downtown and say the Plaza Independencia, Plaza Italia, Plaza España, PlazaSan Martin and the Plaza Chile which were all pretty cool.
Both Argentina and Chile were both very modern and nice although we have been told that crossing into Bolivia is like going back 30years in time so we are making the most of Argentina while we are here, its such a cool laid back place. Next stop party time in Buenos Aires where apparently its not cool to leave the house before 3am on a night!!!!
Adios Rich and Hannah.
