Rich and Martha's travels
We made it to New Zealand on Sunday, via Sydney airport. We flew into Sydney at 6 in the morning to the most beautiful sunrise - a good omen we hope. We then flew on to Auckland where we spent the night Sunday. On Monday morning we got on a bus to the north of the north island. We arrived in Pahia Mon afternoon and have been enjoying the sights ever since. It's a beautiful coastal village with lots of hostels, boats and beach and not much else. On tuesday we went on a tour to the northern most part of the island where the pacific ocean meets the tasman sea. It's really beautiful up there, very peaceful and picturesque. We also got to drive along the beach in a coach which was pretty cool and go boogyboarding down the sand dunes. Rich managed to stack it twice, I think he's still picking the sand out of his hair, once was enough for me!!
We've also been on a speedboat trip, to the hole in the rock - honestly it's a major tourist attraction. It was a pretty cool boat - very fast. We also borrowed a couple of bikes and I managed to get Rich cycling - we were going to the golf course so I think that helped!!
We go back to Auckland for one night next and then we get on a bus to start our tour of the south island. The only bad thing I can say about New Zealand at the moment is the weather, it's pretty cold in the morth and is only going to get colder as we head south, comparing it to Bali at 30 degrees isn't good.
That's all for now.... have a look at the photos we've managed to put on now.
