PART 1............

So after a fun 5days in Melaka we knew we had to move on.....and we had time to waste....3weeks to be percise............as were now going to AUZZY AUZZY AUZZY ....OI OI OI OI.........or to you and me......the land down under.....the place where 'Neighbours' and 'home and away' are flimed...and of course the HOME of the legend that was STEVE IRWIN......yes we had been granted our workin visa.....YAAAY!!! Celebrate gd times come on ......do do do doooo dooo....haha...neway as i was sayin we had 3weeks to waste so decided to go right back up the top of malysia.....a place called Kota Bahru.....the most northean place we could get on the bus and also the starting point of the 'jungle train' !!!!! The bus left at around 8p.m and we were expected to arrive at around 6.am.....however we didnt....and ended up arriving at the bus station around 8.30ish.....we had already decided on our accomodation...dew to our bible....'Lonely Planet'....we had chose a place called 'Zecks' it said it was very clean....so that did it 4 us. When we arrived 1st impressions werent fantastic...as it didnt seem anyone was in.....but then after a few load knocks a man appeared....very grumpy...as we had awoken him from his sleep....however...once he realsied we were there for a room he was gr8!!! He showed us a couple of rooms....we ended up decideing on a big room with 2 double beds....and its own bathroom with hot water ...it was lovely and only 50rm!!! we were both starving so made our way down stairs...he introduced us 2 his wife and we all got to know each other a bit.....one of the nicest people weve stayed with....they always made us feel right at home and always addressed us with our first names!!! The made us breaky and chatted 2 us whilst doing so.....it really was a home away from home.....After breaky we decided to have a power nap as we didnt get hardly any sleep on the coach.....we were 2 amused with the funny picture weld taken of the man sleeping...bless him.....check it out tho its really funny!!!!! neway at about 2pm....we emerged from a lovely sleep on a massive bed....we had pushed both beds togeather so it was huge...and sooo comfy!!!! After about 30mins of wondering about...we realised there actually was nothing to do there.....we wondered in and out off a few bargain shops and that was about it! For dinner Mrs Zeck had told us about the food night market and a special counter that did 'Blue Rice' and yummy coconut chicken.....however by the time we had found it we both had discussed mcdonalds a few times and had got a taste for it...lol!!! we still tried abit of the chicken though while we were there.....and we werent dissapointed...it was YUMMY!!!!! but as i said we had both got a craving for mcdonalds so headed there after our chicken!!!......Kota Bahru was a one night stop over....however zeck had informed us that although it was monsoon one of the islands were still excessable.....so the perinthians were where we we headed next........

PART 2.............

After 2 nights on the perinthains and fearing we would never get off...we decided to go back and visit Mr and Mrs Zeck for a good nights sleep and head else where from there........All we really did on the second visit...was stock up on insect repelant......and i tell you that we did...we have everything you could ever imagine that would stop you getting bitten..........air freshner....incents for out side......spray for your clothes....spray for your skin....and there all brilliant we both havent been bitten since.....good investment!!!!! We also visited the night market again...and got the chicken and the rice.....sadly we didnt get to eat the blue rice...but we saw it.....very funny!!!! once weld got our grub we headed back......now the proper way to eat in malysia.....especially in kota bahru...isnt with Knifes and Forks...not even chop sticks.......but with your bare hands....lol brillant...and they dnt even have plates just banna leaves and paper.....saves washing up hey!!!! So me and rich joined in and ate it all with our hands....very strange indeed...its sooo messy but fun and differnt....and 4 rich and i perfect as we still havent got to grips with how to use a knife and fork properly...lol That was really it from Kota Bahru...and very small town with bery religious views.....there not as welcoming as the other cities and towns weve visited but its obvious to see that westerners are still a rareity in Kota Bahru. Although theres not really much there.....i would revisit...just to see zeck and the crew and to eat the yummy coconut chicken again ........xxxmwahxx
