Day 1: Melbourne Airport - Australia
Wow! It's really here, we are finally going on our trip. Mum and Dad organized a taxi to pick us up from home and take us to the airport. Once there they changed some Australian money (AUD) for 5 different currencies to the countries that we will be visiting: Japanese Yen (YEN), Chinese Yuan (CNY), Thailand Baht (BHT), American Dollars (USD) - this is the currency mainly used in Cambodia and Vietnamese Dong (VND). After checking in our luggage and saying goodbye to our families we headed through customs on our way to the departure lounge.
Our first flight left Melbourne at 4pm and arrived in Kuala Lumpar 7hrs 10mins later for a brief 2hr stop over. It was a long flight, the food was surprisingly good with the highlight being served a Mango Weis Bar Ice-cream YUMMY!
Our second flight left KL at 11.30pm and arrived in Narita Airport Tokyo at 7.20am local time. From there we caught a train to Tokyo and then another short train (5mins) and walked 500m to our hotel.

Day 2: Tokyo - Japan
Our hotel is amazing it's a traditional Japanese Ryokan - this means that it has bamboo sliding doors and windows. The bed is a matt on the floor and the dining table looks like a coffee table with cushions to sit on. After freshening up we braved the streets to find some lunch and found a small restaurant where they spoke no English, after a lot of hand gestures and smiles we ended up with fried rice, noodle soup and dumplings which was all very nice.
The weather is warm and wet due to the typhoon off the coast, but it is only causing rain at the moment.
We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner, had melted cheese on potatoes and a bruschetta type dish. Had a nice chat with the staff, rather funny trying to understand each other.
Mum and Dad say I have to go to bed early tonight if we are to go to Disneyland tomorrow!!!
