We arrived at Philip Island just in time to see the local fishermans cooperative feed the Pelicans. Over twenty Pelicans flew in about fifteen minutes before the fish was bought down to the beach - they know a good thing when they see it! It was a great thing to see as these birds really are massive, so graceful in flight.
Towards the end of the free lunch stingrays gathered around the beach to watch the Pelicans fly off and we saw three floating together in very shallow, clear water all over six foot in length and diameter.
The next time we looked at our watch we realised that we had been watching the stingrays and Pelicans for over two hours and it was lunch time - a great excuse to sample the fish - in fact we went for the scallops with potato cakes, a real treat.
Then it was off to Cowes to book onto our site for three nights, we have really landed on our feet with this one as we have great neighbours and our pitch is right on a lovely flat, sandy beach.
