After our visit to the Cape we headed West to pick up the main coast highway South back towards Warkworth.
On route we stopped off at museums in Dargaville and Matakohe which we found really interesting. We then spent our last night with Brian & Charmaine. Unpacking our campervan and repacking our cases was a challenge but made so much easier because we were able to pack in the house. We had a great BBQ for our last meal together and spent a very happy evening together. The cover photo for this blog is taken from the verandah of the house and shows just part of the 'garden'. Fortunately there had been some rain over the past couple of days which had topped up the water tanks and freshened the foliage, trees and bush.
On our last morning in New Zealand we were up bright and early and said our goodbyes to Brian and Charmaine and were on the road by 10.00am. How sorry we were to leave our dear family but we hope to see them again soon.
Leaving New Zealand was a wrench because we have both loved our time here, such lovely warm people and fantastic experiences. On the plus side we are now off to Australia and are another step closer to seeing Ben and Lauren.
