Dear family and friends
Mendoza the great city of famous wines
Came to Mendoza the in the early evenings hours, got settled at our hostel "Hostels suites" standard hostel nothing in particular. We checked our lonely planet book for a descent restuarant found one called "Bistro Anna" went there, beutifull place, seemed very highclass and it certainly good, except the food which was avarage. Probably still the best restuarant in the city.
2. day The famous wine tour.
We were at bit lazy, so got up around 10 am, went to the tourist office and got information about how to get there. Still remember it, bus 173 and get of at "Hugos bike" in Maipu. Got of there rented a bike and started cycling around, started at the "wine museo" bought a tour 70 pesos after the tour you were able to use the ticket as a discount value 70 pesos. They started telling about the wine was very good cause the water from the Andes ran trough the city and the wine yards, they used many defferent types of grapes, some only got water for 3 days and others were constantly, depends on the grapes and which wine they wanted to produce. After the tour we got to the wine tasting area, tried to wines called Museo which the only produced for the tour, tasted bad, after I asked for the quality of the wine and they told it was under average. Dont think anyone knew that cause the all bought boxes of that wine, and it really tasted like acid. If you wanted yto taste the good wine you had to pay more. After here went biked 10 km to the next wineyard called Di Tomasi we didnt go for the wine tasting here but had a lunch. After we went to another wineyard called Alba, beautifull place, here you sitting on a big balcony with a view over the Andes and the wineyards, perfect atmosphere, tried 3 defferent wines 2 were exellent and the last average, probably a wine taster wouldnt agree with me. The last stop was at a farm which produced cholate and jams, nice little place. Went back to Mendoza exhausted and tired, had a nap.
3. day a long busride
And of to Bueno Aires...
