Dear followers
Last stay in Argentina before Uruguay
First day
When we first arrived in Buenos Aires we drove through a dodgy neighbourhood, people lived in houses under bridges and everything seemed dirty and unfinished. We took a cab from the busstation to our hostel, but was stopped on the way by a riot which filled the street, so we had to get out of the cab and walk the rest of the way, only 15 minutes walk, but my backpack weigh like 30 kilo, quite heavy! We book our hostel for 5 nights own private room, to expensive 33 dollar pr. night each person, but nice room and great breakfast, the placed called America del Sur. We stashed our backpacks in the rooms and went to Florida street, blackmarket street were we changed our dollars to pesos for a really good rate 11.5 for 1 dollars normal is 7. After we changed our money, we walkad around the city and found some presents and sourvenirs and some good wines from Argentina. In the evenings we found a high rated restuarant in Buenos Aires called Denizetal extremly good, I ordered Bife de lomo which is tenderloin, the beef was so tender I was able to cut it with my fork. I recommend this place to everyone, best beef I tried so far. Many people came there for beef only, no sides just a beef, have to write it once more GREAT PLACE. If you going to try the resturant look it up in Lonely planet eating in the area San Telmo.
Second day.
We went for a free walk around in San Telmo and La boca, the tour started in San Telmo were we saw some house and the worlds smallest house, 2 metres wide and 15 metres long, 2 floors, tiny little famous house, empty at the minute, so if you thinking about buying a place in BA go for it!!! A little story about San Telmo, it was once a rich place were the high society lived, but in the late 18 th it got hi by an yellow fever epedemic, and all the rich moved to the north of the city and left everything in San Telmo which quickly got occupied of poor european settlers, many house became shops and the part of the city didnt remain retained as the northern part of the city, they still have many beutifull buildings in San Telmo, but deffently not as beutifull as in the north. After seeing some nice places we took a bus to La boca, a place were you only are safe during day. La boca is also the place were Tango origined from, came with the settlers, just to ruin a myth, not many Argentinians are able to dance Tango only a few, so as many thinks Argentina is deffently not known for the dance anymore. We walked in La boca for a few hours, poor place and the place we visited was quite touristed. Got some good pictures and got an idea of the part of the city and its not like the place you imagine, its a dangarous place and dont go alone or during night. At the evening I took a Tango lesson, so fun!!! Were I good "No not at all". At the evening I went out to a bar were they had many defferent beers and beers combo, I tried one with four defferent beers best was the wine beer tasted a little like elderflower and beer, after the beers we wanted to find a club walked for ages and ended up at the hostel for a sleep.
3. day
We walked up Florida street to find some runners, so we could go to play some soccer later on, I couldnt find any and I not sure if the runners is cheaper in Denmark. We went back to our hostel change into soccer clothes and went to the area called Palermo, to get there we took the subway 2 kr. for a trip app. 40 minutes, Denmark could learn from this, extremly cheap all people used the subway. We got of at Bulgas station near the park were you could play soccer. Pelermo is one of the best or richest areas of Buenos Aires all shops and streets is mantained and beutifull, so we decided to walk around and see Palermo before the soccer. When we finally arrived to the soccer fields in the park, there wasent any playing, some players came and we asked to join, but we couldnt without paying to the park 300 pesos - 200 kr. we decided to skip it and stayed for a few hours in Palermo. I decided to have an early movie night My mate went out and came home knocking down the door 7 in the morning a bit drunk!
4. day
I went to Tigre in the morning already at 8.30. Tigre is a city 40 km from Buenos Aires beutifull little town you are able to get there by boat or bus I took the boat, because Tigre is all about the deltas. The houses is built around the small rivers, same idea as Venedig, but the water is brown, shouldnt be pollution but iron from the mountains, I wouldnt go in, seemed so dirty... But all people did water activities, waterskies, wakeboards, jetboats, rowing and a lot more! If the water was clear blue it would be one of the top 5 to visit in Argentina, almost everyhouse looked pretty and all had new speedboats. Many of the owners didnt have cars or bikes, only a speedboat, have to say I think they all had a fair share of money, cause there were garbage boats picking up people garbage and supermarket boats, icecreamboats and many more defferent boats even dentalboats! The city of Tigre could be every small city with a big market were you could buy everything you deffently dont need! came back at 18.00 sleeped for some hours and went out to the early morning!!! (Saturday I had to)
