After coffee and breakfast at a Java Joe's near the hotel we went to the Royal Ontario Museum, which is one of the attractions we can access using our Toronto CityPasses.
That place is huuuuuge. The front of the building (pictured above) was designed by an artist called Daniel Libeskind, and it's called The Michael Lee-Chin Crystal after a guy who made a $30 million donation to the museum.
Inside they have a number of floors filled with your usual museum-type stuff (ancient civilisations, dinosaurs, stuffed animals and things) as well as a whole section about the first nations and on the 4th floor a photography exhibition by Edward Burtynsky called "Oil" which was very impressive.
We spent at least four hours in there, and once our feet were sufficiently tired it was time to wander elsewhere, stopping for falafel first of course. A new squirrel also decided it wanted to be our friend, so I named it Trevor (Toronto Trevor, duh) and took some photos of it before apologising for not having any food. Now Aidan is having a bit of a nap, and later on we're planning to visit the Chinese restaurant based in the same building as our hotel. It has lots of good reviews so we might as well :)
