On the road again! Or... on the road then in the sky again. Tomorrow I trundle off to Marrakech with my mother, sister and one of my mother's friends for a week of girly bonding (or fighting) in the blistering heat. I can't wait :) I've finished packing, all of my batteries are charged (laptop, Kindle, camera) and I've tried to pack only what I really need into my main bag. Basically sturdy footwear, not-so-sturdy footwear, undies, socks and a variety of linen...

We're getting ready to leave Canada with some sadness but also gratitude. Sadness that we have to go back home to our normal lives (at least starting on Monday when we go back to work), but grateful to have been able to visit such a wonderful place. I look forward to coming back :) And we totally will. Sorry Canada, you haven't seen the last of us!

Tonight is our last night in this rather funky country, and what better way to mark the end of a cool holiday than by going to see one of your favourite bands live? Going to see Rammstein happened pretty much by chance. A few months ago I was idly browsing t'internet (as is my wont) and saw that they were doing a tour of North America and Canada. It's weird to think that we only really have two more days in Canada before we have to come home again... Ho hum. It's certainly been a fun trip; we've seen amazing places, spoke to some lovely people, drank some awesome beers (we don't drink that much at home but hey, we're on our holidays) and walked a hell of a lot. We usually walk everywhere at home (what with not wanting to get tied down to the costs of running a car) but of course Newcastle is a lot smaller...

After coffee and breakfast at a Java Joe's near the hotel we went to the Royal Ontario Museum, which is one of the attractions we can access using our Toronto CityPasses. That place is huuuuuge. The front of the building (pictured above) was designed by an artist called Daniel Libeskind, and it's called The Michael Lee-Chin Crystal after a guy who made a $30 million donation to the museum.
