So, where are we... I think Wanaka is where we ended up next and its where we were to be for New years too. Nice place, lovely lake (glacier blue of course), and a really nice lakeside resorty kind of place you would expect to see in a movie or an episode of some tv show Regina would watch. There is lots of young people here, I have no idea just how young of course because at my age everyone seems young (yes thats right, at my age... il be 30 soon enough ish). So...

So, to Glacier country..... The day we arrived we were lucky enough to get see the clouds which had battered us the whole way down the coast with gale force winds and flooding rains brush aside and reveal the glacier from a hefty distance. At least we could see it and it was pretty much the first bit of scenary we had seen down the coast since it started raining. We got a photo or two and before we could turn our backs and head to the hostel the clouds rolled bac...

Another appetizer blog for Christmas day as the credit is running out again... Spent two days in Nelson in the Grand Mercure Monaco Apartments.... four stars.... very swanky. We had a nice little apartment with a seperate bedroom and kitchen/dining room. It was lovely, and even lovelier compared to what we had become accustomed to (and as I write this have become reacquainted with rather abruptly, oh well thats the backpacker life). We went and did some shopping...

So to Wellington.... They call it Windy Wellington..... We though the smell of rotten eggs in Rotorua was bad but let me tell you this, they arent lying when they call it Windy Wellington.... I dont know what they eat around there but they are Windy!!!!! Seriously though, I have never experienced such gales, I am suprised the place is still there.
