Colleen & Tom's Explorations
Happy Birthday Tom!! And it's Good Friday. I gave Tom a card and a QE2 pin I'd bought in the bookshop. We slept in - the water was amazingly calm. The Bay of Biscay was totally flat all day.
After breakfast we found out how much taxis/trains in Southampton to London cost. Then we converted all our Portuguese and American money into Francs and 10 pound. After that we checked out the clothing specials down in the gym and then re-checked the shops - nothing we wanted. So I went off and did the washing, Tom went to a talk on the Brittania. Then we had lunch.
After lunch I went to a talk on scarf tying and returned and packed. Tom went to see "The Perfect Storm". We had ordered a beer for him at lunchtime to celebrate his birthday but never got the bill for it!!
At dinner time we had a glass of champagne each (first time we've had to buy it) , and at dessert time, Hafid and all the waiters sang Happy Birthday to Tom, with a candle on a little chocolate cake which we then had for dessert. It was lovely - what a pity I didn't take my camera.
We are now sailing up the English Channel - very calm and quiet.
