Colleen & Tom's Explorations
Breakfast at 7am, then went and watched our arrival in Lisbon. It is a really pretty city and has less than 1 million population. We rang the girls then but lost the signal so went upstairs on deck and rang again. Shannon and Jess sound happy - it's Thursday pm for them.
We had a lovely tour of Lisbon then left the tour where the shuttle buses run from. We went shopping in a nice area. The buildings are covered in tiles - everyone has to clean their buildings, so tiles are easiest. There was an "Outback Restaurant" with a kangaroo on the exterior wall!! To use up our Portuguese coins we went to a McCafe - toilets were awful - no soap and no paper.
We came back to the ship and had lunch then went down to the cabin and watched a movie "Frequency". It was a really good movie. Right at the end our ship started to leave the dock. There was a tug boat right outside our window - he was so close that his tyres rubbed right across our port hole. The movie finished and we went upstairs to watch us leave - we went under a road bridge similar to the Golden Gate (next to a statue of Jesus that is a small copy of the one in Rio) and we thought the funnel was going to crash into the bridge!! It was lovely to see the city in the setting sun. We went up and bought the copy of Pete's book up in the Trading Post to give to Andy Holloway tonight.
Drinks in the Officer's Ward Room was great - Andy is really interesting.
