Colleen & Tom's Explorations
So, after brekky, it was decided that Tom would go to a museum, and I would stay in our hotel, resting my knee. Tom went to the National Museum of Nature and Science. It was the easiest one for him to get to alone. He found the museum labels of exhibits to be mostly in Japanese, and the narratives on audios to be totally in Japanese, but he enjoyed the exhibits themselves. Tom was astounded on the way to be confronted by a Japanese Buddhist monk who gave him a religious card, which he accepted, but then when he went to continue on his way demanded a donation. As Tom reached into his back pocket for coins he said "no, not coins" to which Tom replied that that was all he had, and he had to be happy with that. In the meantime, I pressed the button to have our room made up, and took my iPad (with my library e-books on it) to a series of rooms. First off I relaxed and read for a while in the guest lounge on our floor, then I went down to the foyer at reception and read in their very well appointed lobby, and then I decided to go to the Lobby Lounge Restaurant where, after waiting a little while for a free table, I partook of a Sakura Morning tea: what they called French toast (more like French cake), a pot of cherry jelly with a blossom, a bowl of fruit, including dragon fruit, and a latte. It was delightful. When I returned to our room it had been remade - delightful. After Tom returned and rested he went out to hunt and gather dinner - some Japanese burritos and pokky. No pokky is safe while we live and breathe! Sooooo - no news, one photo...... And we go home tomorrow. What I appreciate today: you never know when housekeeping are around - no noisy trolleys, no hustle and bustle, just stealth, discretion and subtlety.
