Colleen & Tom's Explorations
Well, today didn't really go as we planned. We walked down to Gare St Lazare and found we had missed the morning's only fast train and had to wait over an hour for the slow train to Vernon. We eventually got out there and arrived at Giverny at about 1pm.
We wandered through Monet's home, left/restored just as it was. It amazed us that the back wall of the house formed part of the wall along the road in the village. The gardens were stunning - the tulips beautiful. there was a tunnel leading over to the water lily garden. We spend ages over there, it was just lovely.
When we finished looking through all of the gardens, and the souvenir shop, we wandered around the village of Giverny (bought a very late lunch), caught the bus back to Vernon and then filled in time wandering around until we caught the fast train back to Paris.
Walking back to the hotel we bought another pashmina at Gare St Lazare - only 50Ff compared with 90 Ff the other night. We bought some Maccas for dinner and wandered in and out of shops and arcades on our way back to our hotel.
