Left Djenne yesterday after a tour of the city, dusty town on the bank of Bani river. Highlights were the mud mosque and seeing a women*s cooperative where they make local fabrics. Also managed to buy a piece of fabric and a necklace from the monday market. We visited our Mali guide*s mother*s village Bandassi where tourists are rarely seen and felt like celebrities with the kids surrounding us. Gosh they love to have their picture taken. Greetings from scorching Djenne, arrived a few minutes ago from the bordertown of Koro and so far enjoying the beauty and warmth of Mali.
