After a laid back day yesterday it was time to check out the sights. Conveniently got company to join me for a venture out in town and checked out the famous customized coffins they make here. Personally I would sure like to be buried inside a lobster..
I couldn't help noticing yesterday at the airport that western ladies seem to wear a lot of animal prints when it comes to shirts they wear here. If you are going on a safari, why dress in the big five? There are plenty of animals going around anyways, random horses, goats and chicken. My definate favourites I was looking forward to see in Accra were the old lighthouse next to James Fort, the sights were awesome with the fishing harbour nearby, and seeing the animal skulls and skins at the Timber market was another highlight.
Tomorrow we are finally hitting the road and making our way north to Lake Bosumtwi, a meteor crater lake. Before that will be time to rest and have some fufu or banku. Fufu is basically what some would know as mealie pap or ugali, the food is the same I guess, only the name and the country changes. Let's see if I'm adventurous enough to try out some goat despite of the non-red meat diet. Oh and just for the record, our truck is called Madge..
