This city is the epitome of organised chaos. You would never have known that the place was up to it's arse in water just a few days ago. The odd boarded up business, and occasional smell of rancid water and that's it. When you think of the amount of damage the floods did to this city you really have to respect the clean up operation.
We came to Bangkok for a combined birthday/Christmas party with a load of friends that we met on our travels. Had a fantastic night in an english boozer, then on to the seediest night club ever. Fat, old, bald headed crackers, dancing with very young Thai girls/boys. Each to their own I say, whatever floats ya boat like, but still i just can't help feeling a combination of pity and sickness. Some of the blokes looked so uncomfortable I wanted to go up and tell them that they don't have to be here, but others were finding the debauchery a bit too easy. Career cretins, professional perverts, skin crawling mother f***ers of the highest order. Still we had a good night, and I now fully understand the interest in people watching. Beats TV any day.
Sad to say goodbye to our new chums, but cold, wet, windy, England beckons. I can't believe we go home tomorrow. It feels like a lifetime ago. At least it will be Christmas though, so the party will just continue without the tropical climate.
Happy birthday Mel, and merry Christmas everybody.
Much love. X
