Bangkok is a monster.... but I f***ing love it!

Take London crank it to 11, dose it up on speed and whiskey, and it would still seem reserved in comparison. This place is absolute insanity! The smell of piss, s***, smog and incredible street food come together to make an aroma like nothing else. An oxymoron of horrible lovliness.

Chatachuk market is an experience I tell ya. About a billion stalls (only a slight exageration) selling just about anything and everything. Saw a cracker chucking her guts up down a drain and nearly followed her down! Who would have thought the smell of human s***, curry and donuts could have such an effect... Still we did pick up some right bargains. 10 years in the sales game has honed my haggling skills to a fine art. These market traders and tut tut/taxi drivers don't know what's hit em. I do feel a bit bad what with us being rich in comparison, but the thought of being taken for a western muppet is too much to take. I've been countering the guilty feeling by dishing out decent sized tips whenever the service deserves it, which I have to say has been exeptional all round. The hotel staff are amazing they couldn't be more helpful, the tut tut driver yesterday was a mad genius, and every pub and restaurant has been so friendly it hurts. Last nights taxi driver got f*** all though. A cabbie getting lost on the way to one of the cities largest monuments, and it was only 10 minutes away! Bell end.

Kao San Road is quality. Loads of bars, stalls and little fellas trying to hard sell you a suit. "alright mate, lubberly jubberly, come and get fitted out for a suit, best in Thailand" I don't know Thai for f*** off, so I just smile and shake my head. Heading back there in a few minutes to top up on supplies and catch our bus to Samui. Going to chill by the beach for a few weeks. Bangkok has been fun but paradise beckons.
