Rachel's European Adventure
Hi Everyone!
I just read that great message from Leila, what a hoot. Though I am sorry to have missed the polar bear plunge, I am having a blast here in the UK. We went on a walking tour of London on Friday which was great, and I got some really nice pictures which I will try to figure out how to upload.
We also went skating at Sumerset House, which is a beautiful historic home with a skating rink in the center. While it was beautiful, it was very small, and they had a much smaller selection of skates than Sanford's pond, with no figure skates! I was excited not to fall on my face in my first atempt at hockey skates, which are so different. I helped to teach Sean, from Texas, how to skate and he did a great job! Though it was fun, nothing can beat Sanfords Pond!
On Saturday I went to see Oscar Wilde's play; A Woman of No Importance; at the Theatre Royal. It was a beautiful theatre and the show was amazing. We had student rush tickets so I was in the 5th row for only £15, tickets that should normally have cost about £60, that is like seeing a broadway show in the fifth row for only $25. The leading lady was none other than Samantha Bond, yes she was Moneypenny, James Bond's assistant in all the recent James Bond Movies. The costumes were really fun and the acting was great. It was the same theatre where the show premiered initially so that sense of history was really great.
Tonight we are going to see Tom Stoppard's Jumpers, which will be enroute to Broadway after it closes in London in March so we have been told. It is supposed to be a great show and I will be sure to give you all my review.
Hope all is going well and you are braving the cold temperatures!
Love,
Rachel
